Organic Bee Venom Mask and Eye Serum

The history of bee venom use for therapeutic purposes dates back to ancient times. Bee venom was used in ancient Egypt, India, China and Greece. Traditional therapeutic use of bee venom is based on its anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect. Bee venom is among the most powerful of the known antibiotic substances. Bee venom has shown high antimicrobial activity against a variety of microorganisms: Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, E. coli, diphtheria, tuberculosis and others.

According to a study conducted by German professor Karina Reiss from Department of Dermatology, Christian-Albrecht University, bee venom is able to activate the production of collagen needed to maintain skin elasticity.

The main component of bee venom is a protein called Melitin, linear peptide consisting of 26 amino acids. Melitin causes increased blood circulation, and as a result, the inner layers of the skin start incrased production of elastin and collagen. Studies have also shown that Melitin can increase production of keratinocyte - skin cells that act as a protective barrier against external factors. Keratinocytes are located in the surface layer of the skin and shortage of keratinocytes can accelerate skin aging process.
